Synchronization from Windows to Windows system

The synchronization module allows you to record your project times offline, i.e. without a connection to the central database. A synchronization module must be purchased for each employee who is to be additionally synchronized in the Xpert-Timer Pro system.

The employee records all of their project times in a local SQLite, MSSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft Access database. This recording is usually done on a laptop.

The data from the local databases is then synchronized with the central database at the touch of a button (menu item Program -> Synchronize).

To ensure that the databases exchange the correct data with each other, a so-called synchronization file is created by Xpert-Timer. This is user-dependent and stores the ID of the local database. This synchronization file must be created on the Xpert-Timer with a connection to the main database and then imported onto the laptop. Please follow the steps below carefully to activate synchronization.

You must follow these steps to activate synchronization with a laptop (a more detailed description can be found in the corresponding subchapters):

1. Install a single-user version of Xpert-Timer (full installation with MS Access database) on the laptop (a trial version is sufficient).

2. Start Xpert-Timer Pro on the computer connected to the central database.

3. Activate the synchronization module in the Xpert-Timer configuration with a connection to the main database.

4. Employee management -> Employee data -> Create the synchronization file for the specific user with a connection to the main database.

5. Save the synchronization file on the laptop in the Xpert-Timer installation folder.

6. Start Xpert-Timer on the laptop -> synchronization file is recognized.

7. Synchronize under the menu item Program -> Perform synchronization.
