If you have installed Xpert-Timer on a network drive and many employees access XpertTimer.exe, you can use XTUpdater to install updates. Before the update, a login lock is set so that no employee can access the software. Nevertheless, you must ensure that no employee has started Xpert-Timer when you want to install the update. Employees who are still accessing Xpert-Timer at the time of the update can be logged out with a click of the mouse.
Please note: To use XTUpdater correctly, it must be located in the same folder as your central XpertTimer.exe and executed from there.
In the first step, select the date and time when you want to install the update. Select the program components to be updated and the paths where you want to install the update. Please note that the paths must not contain any spaces.

Then, in the next step, download the update wizard.

In the next step, start the XTUpdater:

After you have started the XTUpdater, check whether the path to your installation is correct. If necessary, select the correct path again.
The wizard will then show you an overview of the available changes:

Decide which parts of the program you want to update. The database, the client software, and/or the server software. If the patch level (PL81 in the example) has remained the same in your update, you do not need to update the database.
As soon as you click on "Update now," Xpert-Timer checks whether all employees are logged out of the system. If not, it will attempt to log them out of the system automatically. If Xpert-Timer is unable to log out the employees due to system settings, please delete the xperttimer.exe file in the program directory. The update will then run in any case.
The updater will perform all steps and close the program with the dialog "The update was successfully installed."
