Empty all tables
If you want to reset a database that has already been used for testing purposes, you can reset the database. This will delete all data recorded in the tables. You should only use this function if you are absolutely sure that you want to delete all data.
Permanently delete deleted records
Xpert-Timer wants to prevent you from accidentally deleting data, so there is an additional dialog box called "Permanently delete deleted records." If you are sure that you definitely no longer need records that have already been deleted, you can free your database from unnecessary ballast here.

Batch archiving |
Batch archiving allows you to archive several projects at once. Using the filters, you can select projects that have not been edited for a long time and thus clean up your database. You should use this function sporadically. |
Change username for login |
In the single-user version, this button is necessary to set the user name to the new Windows user name of the new computer when moving computers. |
Execute SQL command |
You can use XTAdmin to execute SQL commands on your database. Clicking on the button opens a dialog box where you can enter the SQL command. Normally, this function should not be used and is intended exclusively for database maintenance. |
Update DB structure |
The database structure is automatically updated during a software update. This button is only needed if errors occur during the update. Please contact our support team before using this function. |
Set patch |
The patch level is also set automatically. The same procedure applies here as for the database structure. Please contact our support team before using this function. |
Set |
If you set a server IP here, the Xpert-Timer clients check every few seconds whether the database connection to the server is still active. By entering this, you can intercept error messages that could cause Xpert-Timer to hang when the connection is lost. You would then have to shut down the program via the Task Manager. |
Recover deleted project |
If you have accidentally deleted a project, you can restore it and the associated timestamps here. |
Recalculate project totals |
It can happen that the final total for a project does not match the sum of the timestamps. You can use this function to recalculate the project total. |
Activate/deactivate automation |
If you activate automation, the project totals in the database will be automatically recalculated at 11 p.m. |
Check and correct database |
Due to unforeseeable circumstances, some records in the database may contain duplicate or invalid values. This function finds and removes these records. |
Permanently delete deleted records |
Here you can free the database from unnecessary ballast by permanently removing records that are no longer needed from the database. |
Empty all tables |
With the "Empty all tables" button, you can reset the program to its default state. |
Filter the projects you want to archive using the filters in the filter bar. For example, set the "No times entered since" filter to "1 year." This means that all projects with a last timestamp older than 1 year will be listed. Use the customer filter if you have completed the project for a specific customer and do not expect any further orders. Of course, you can also filter by project.
The cut-off date is the date on which the filters are based. So if the cut-off date is set to 01/01/19 and the filter is set to "No times entered for 1 year," all projects with a last timestamp of 01/01/18 or older will be displayed.
